On September 14, 2021, a souvenir sheet with two postage stamps under the theme \u201cBombing of Ghazanchetsots Holy Savior Cathedral of Shushi\u201d has been canceled and put into circulation.<\/p>\n

The event was launched with the blessing and prayer of the Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan.<\/p>\n

The cancellation was carried out by Head of the Post Office of the RA Ministry of High Technologies Tsovinar Galstyan, Director General of HAYPOST, Hayk Karapetyan, Primate of the Artsakh Diocese, His Excellency, Bishop Vrtanes Abrahamyan, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Artsakh in Armenia Sergey Ghazaryan and President of the Armenian Philatelic Association Hovik Musayelyan.<\/p>\n

Bishop Vrtanes compared the issue of the stamp with Noah's dove.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Noah sent a dove to understand if there is life in the world, so today we are issuing these stamps from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to reach hearts of stone, break them and turn them from darkness to light, to make humanity understand and realize, what does it mean to destroy the centuries-old Christian culture,\u201d said the diocesan leader.<\/p>\n

The postage stamp of the souvenir sheet with the nominal value of 940 AMD depicts Ghazanchetsots Holy Savior Cathedral of Shushi (XIX c.) and the postage stamp of the souvenir sheet with the nominal value of 950 AMD depicts Ghazanchetsots Holy Savior Cathedral damaged by the strikes of Azerbaijani unmanned aerial vehicles.<\/p>\n

The left part of the souvenir sheet depicts Ghazanchetsots Holy Savior Cathedral of Shushi before the bombing as well as one of the angel sculptures of the church. The right part of the souvenir sheet depicts Ghazanchetsots Holy Savior Cathedral, being bombed as a result of the Azerbaijani aggression, as well as the unmanned aerial vehicle.<\/p>\n
